„Amikor a ringben vagy, senki sem segít neked. Pont ilyen az építészet is.” Andó Tadao autodidakta módon vált ökölvívóból Pritzker-díjas építésszé. Éles nyelvű, egyedi humorú, eredeti alkotó, akit fegyelmezett stílusa és kifinomult esztétikai érzéke miatt „szamuráj építésznek” is neveznek. A filmben saját maga mutatja be számos ikonikus tervét, többek közt a Sorházat és a Fény Templomát.

The spotlight is on the award winning Japanese architect, Tadao Ando, for his refined and minimalistic designs. In the film, he reveals the experience a building should evoke, as he discusses a number of iconic designs, such as The Row House and The Church of Light.
The understated creations of the 72-year-old former boxer and self-taught architect are stark contrasts to his take-charge personality, sharp tongue and unique sense of humor. These seemingly contradictory traits add to his appeal and when combined with his demanding sense of discipline and his keen aesthetic sense, they help to explain why he has been called the “Samurai Architect.”
